When it comes search engines, google is still the king, and they are doing everything they can to maintain their lead,   in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, according to their official blog, this change impacts 11.8% organic search results, in another word, google thinks about 12% of it’s search results are really bad and need to manipulated. The update was initiated more than a year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, some of the keywords even ranked better than before, it’s obvious that link building the old way is the thing of past, probably due to links crammed sites being de-indexed by google.

So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, the name link spamming are just for these sites. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, any links on them will be affected too. 

Examples will be great for explanation. When I got into online marketing long time ago, I started promote the keyword, cam buckle strap, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, and those sites had only links, no real content at all. This strategy worked in the beginning, finally the rank improved a lot, the party was over when google updated it’s algorithm. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? It all boils down to content, so if you create great content, you will attract readers as well as search engines. You probably think there are already too many blogs out there, it’s not true, there will never be too many good blogs, such as this interesting blog, best baby strollers , I didn’t put too much effort into it from start, but I never stopped posting, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of  competitive keywords. As far as SEO concerned, article marketing with great content is the way to go. At the end of day all you have to do is to create attractive content, share the content with people, promote your business with the content, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. Whatever you do, you will need persistence and patience, nothing will automatically improve overnight, it doesn’t matter you’re doing SEO or advertising your business, now all we need to do is to give our love for creating and sharing nice content and not to worry about the search results all the time.
