Beginning early this year, certain search engine made some changes to their search ranking,   in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, in plain English, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it becomes clear that link building the old way is the thing of past, probably due to link spamming sites being de-indexed by google.

What is old way of link building any way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the only updates on those websites are the new links, and most of them are useless, we call these sites link spamming sites. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.  

Examples will be great for explanation. When I got into online marketing long time ago, I needed to rank the keyword, Grade 30 Chains, of course with old way of link building, almost all the sites I got link from had too many links, and the worst thing is that those sites are linking sites only and had no content, not even crap content. In the beginning, the ranking of the keyword in question rise pretty fast, lately the keyword link stayed on the first page for a while, this was the case until google made the change. Something opposite happened to this keyword, chain pullers, most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, almost no plain links, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? It all boils down to content, so if you create great content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. You probably think there are already too many blogs out there, it’s not true, there will never be too many good blogs, for instance let’s examine this one, best smartphones , I didn’t put too much effort into it from start, but I never stopped posting, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of  competitive keywords. As we can see, creating quality content and blog marketing is what we have to do to get great result. If you can build a group of your own blogs, for instance Grade 70 Chain, then you will have a powerful weapon in your SEO arsenal.

Bottom line is that you should create great content, share the content with people, promote your business with the content, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. The virtues, persistence and patience, are essential for your success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, it doesn’t matter you’re doing SEO or advertising your business, now all we need to do is to give our love for creating and sharing great content and not to worry about the search results every day. Last but not least, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. For wordpress blogs, I recommend twitter tools, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, link your blog to twitter, you should choose to post a tweet for every new post, it’s simple and elegant, it’s a big loss if you don’t use this tool.
